Maritime Security Case Study

West Africa Gulf of Guinea

In March 2024, Remote Medical International requested Drone Pilot Ops to support an anti-piracy team with aerial surveillance capabilities and drone detection at sea.

The operation involved flying from a specialised ship to conduct aerial inspections of targets of interest. This would provide the security team with an advanced warning in case of encountering bad actors.

This was an important line of defence as the ship was often static and unable to move at short notice due to the nature of the subsea work.

Despite its initial complexity, we found flying from a moving ship a thoroughly enjoyable challenge.
